somatic experiencing therapy

"Our bodies contain our histories- every chapter, line and verse of every event and relationship of our lives."
-Caroline Myss

Life is stressful. Add in trauma, anxiety, chronic pain or illness and it can be downright overwhelming. Because of all of this overwhelm, our body is about the last place we want to be. So we check out. We get really good at avoiding, at numbing, at ‘being busy’. So good in fact, that we don’t know any other way to be. Even the idea of slowing down becomes too much, so we disconnect from ourselves even more. And most of the time, we aren’t even aware of it. We develop chronic patterns and ways of being and we don’t know how to behave differently.

FINDING INSPIRATION FROM

Slowing down, getting curious and feeling your feelings.

The biggest changes I witness in my clients after sessions:
  1. A decrease in anxiety
  2. An increase in energy and aliveness
  3. A deeper sense of self
  4. Clear boundaries
  5. Increased sense of sustainable calm
  6. Less tension and chronic pain
  7. An improved sense of connection with one’s body, breath and nervous system
  8. An increase in overall capacity to more easily manage the ups and downs of day to day and work stresses, without becoming overwhelmed and exhausted
